Our History

In 1996 a client and friend approached attorney Stanford A. Graham with a vexing business problem. This client had an employee who was embezzling from the company and abusing other employees and customers. While terminating the employee was an obvious decision, Stan’s client was worried about a retaliatory lawsuit. “Are my personal assets at risk if this happens?” the client asked.

After a careful review of the facts, Stan’s answer was "unfortunately, yes." Stan’s client had failed to observe many of the requirements of corporate governance and was clearly exposed to a veil-piercing action.

Solving this problem began a 10-year odyssey of legal research and analysis into every veil piercing case on the books in the United States. Several years of research and development later, Bulletproof Veil was born.
